Q & A

Can I cut the aluminum stem if it is too long? If not, how does the product suppose to fit different sizes of bikes and riders? Is it exclusively for some bike post lengths? RAUL asked on June 20, 2024

Hello, yes, you can cut the eeSilk + seat post, as long as you leave the minimum insertion of 100mm to install into the seat tube.

Can the seatpost be used rotated 180degrees to remove the rear bias offset? or is there an adapter that could remove the offset? J.B. asked on June 17, 2024

Hello, thanks for reaching out, however, our eeSilk + seat post can only been used in one direction due to the design of the Parallel linkage technology.

Hello, minimum extension on our eeSilk+ seat post is 80mm or 8CM.

I got this seatpost after suffering some tailbone soft tissue damage riding my rigid Niner Air 9 Carbon on local gravel trails. I was worried the seatpost would impart a “bouncy” feel especially given my higher weight. I was not only pleasantly surprised that the seatpost stays tight until dampening is needed, I was amazed at the smoothness.

It worked so great I came back home and ordered the eeSilk stem!

My Tandem stoker loves it (and it was pretty straight foward to set up as well.)

This is replacing the first version of the Redshift StopShock seatpost on my Salsa Cutthroat. I have been very happy with the performance of the Redshift but I needed to make my bike lighter and the eeSilk+ seatpost is almost half the weight than the StopShock. So far I'm happy with the choice but this one feels different, I don't have enough miles to fully comment. The eeSilk+ is more bouncy than the StopShock because the elastomer springs back faster than the spring in the StopShock. I'm 180 lbs, while the standard #5 is rated 150 to 210 lbs, I'm debating about trying the #7 elastomer but I'll give it more miles before.
