Recommendations and Warnings
Cane Creek recommends only using the scouring pad in a parallel motion to the factory brushed finish. Apply even pressure in one direction – avoid buffing in circular motions or from rubbing the scouring pad the length of the crank (spindle to pedal insert). This procedure should be done by hand only.
Any damage or issues resulting from improper service will not be covered by warranty. Preform this procedure at your discretion.
Prepare Proper Scouring Pad
Step 1
We recommend the 3M 96 Scotchbrite, green color, Medium Duty Scouring Pad.
Cut the pad to a manageable length to prevent unwanted contact with other components.
Identify Scuffs & Scratches
Step 2
Using the scouring pad gently rub the area in a parallel motion to the factory brushed finish.
Apply even pressure in one direction
Avoid buffing in circular motions or from rubbing the scouring pad the length of the crank arm from spindle to pedal insert.
Clean - Repeat - Ride
Step 3
Wipe away any fingerprints or residual material left from the scoring pad with a towel
